Certas Energy has underlined its commitment to a lower emissions future by expanding its sustainable solutions offering.
The UK’s leading fuel and lubricants distributor has acquired Preston-based Freedom Heat Pumps as part of its energy transition roadmap.
Heat pumps are considered more viable and environmentally friendly than alternatives, such as hybrid heating systems. Rather than generating heat, they simply move it – pumping heat from outside a building into its hot water or heating system. Benefits of the sustainable heating solution include reduced carbon emissions, lower running costs, minimised maintenance, long life-span and cooling capabilities for summer.
Freedom Heat Pumps, one of the UK’s leading distributors of air source and ground source heat pump equipment, has experienced a sustained period of growth and is on course to treble its revenue across a two-year period.
Managing Director Chris Higgs said the acquisition was a “strong opportunity” for continued growth for the company in the coming years.
Katrina McDonnell, Head of Energy Solutions and Transition at Certas Energy, said: “We are passionate about finding smart, sustainable solutions to help customers evolve their energy mix, as efficiently as possible. The acquisition of this future-focused business is another step in our plans to best support the changing needs of our customers and to achieving our own ambitious environmental goals – we look forward to delivering exciting new projects together.”
