Refined from crude oil, gas oil is a middle distillate liquid. There are two recognised standards of gas oil:
Class D:
Class D has a maximum sulphur content of 1000ppm and meets the current BS2869 and ISO 8217 specifications. Also known as 1000ppm, 0.1% or LSGO (low sulphur gas oil).
Class A2:
Class A2, also known as ULSGO (ultra-low sulphur gas oil) is suitable for mobile, off-road transportation that are required to use sulphur free fuel.
Class A2 meets the current BS2869 and ISO 8217 specifications and has a maximum sulphur continent of 10ppm (0.001%)
RMG 380
Is a heavy fuel with a mix of residual oil and distillate oil.
RMG 380 can have a maximum of 3.5% of sulphur content according to ISO 8217.
Additives help you reduce the cost of maintaining and replacing your marine machinery, as well as saving you money by improving your fuel’s performance and minimising storage problems and waste.

For cleaner waterways Certas Energy are fuelling change with HVO and GTL Fuel, biodegradable cleaner burning diesel alternatives that are cleaner for air, quieter for engines and gentler to the marine environment.
As an example we’ve been working with Portico, Portsmouth’s deep water cargo terminal, to lower harmful local emissions with GTL Fuel, a cleaner burning diesel alternative.
HVO GTL
We understand the importance of having correct lubricants, additives, engine oils and greases and have a full range available for your vessel to ensure your machines and vessels continue to run smoothly and efficiently.
Our fuel cards are an ideal solution for marine fleet managers to ensure consistent access to high-quality fuel for their vessels, offering convenient access to diesel at ports across the country as well as HVO and AdBlue® at Certas Energy refuelling sites.
