Hands in the Community Programme
At Certas Energy, giving back is more than a commitment – it’s part of who we are. Through our Hands in the Community programme, we support and empower communities across the UK.
This initiative brings to life our corporate values by combining financial support, staff volunteering and meaningful partnerships that create measurable social impact. Our teams work with Neighbourly, an award-winning giving platform, to connect with local charities and causes that matter most – from environmental action and youth support, to health, wellbeing and social inclusion.
We are proud of our strong commitment to corporate giving, partnering with various organisations to deliver vital resources that drive growth, development and meaningful change in local communities. Alongside this, our matched funding approach helps amplify impact by matching funds raised for community projects and charitable initiatives.
Last year we supported 14 matched funding applications, 92 grants and donations, 36 GoGive Winter Relief applications and 30 Domestic Hardship Fund applications – totalling £192,824 invested into communities across the UK.
Investing into our community
Since 2023, our mission has been to support local charities, volunteer our time and help create a stronger, more connected community. Our impact so far:
£400,344 donated
451 communities helped
2,238 hours volunteered
Remote Book Drive
In December 2025, our business supported a Remote Book Drive to help promote the joy and value of reading in some of the hardest-to-reach communities across the UK. The initiative supports work in prisons, schools, and with disadvantaged children and young people, based on the belief that passing on a good book is a simple but powerful act that can have a lasting impact – our efforts resulted in a donation of 105 books!
Fox Wood School Playground Development
Fox Wood School is preparing for an exciting new chapter, with plans underway for a brand-new, all-inclusive playground. Construction is scheduled to take place over the Easter holidays, with the school looking forward to unveiling the new facilities to pupils at the end of April 2026. The playground will provide an accessible and engaging space for all to enjoy. To keep up to date with Fox Wood’s progress, visit our Beyond the Grid hub!
