Government Fuel Related Tax Announcement

In response to the ongoing challenges faced by fuel-reliant industries, the Government has this week announced a series of measures designed to ease cost pressures and provide short-term financial relief across key sectors.

For businesses operating in transport, logistics, agriculture and construction, these interventions could deliver tangible savings. This offers much-needed breathing space at a critical time of continued operational and economic pressure.

The government has announced:

– The 5p fuel duty cut has been extended for the remainder of the year
– A 12-month HGV Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) moratorium, with renewal reduced to £1
– A reduction in red diesel duty, from 10.18p to 6.48p per litre from 15th June until the end of the year
