Certas Energy is pleased to announce that its premier truck stop, TheStop at The Hollies, has earned an industry-endorsed and police-approved Safer Parking Scheme award.
Employees at the Staffordshire site were presented with a Park Mark Freight Award by representatives of The British Parking Association on April 18th.
The prestigious award recognises parking facilities that maintain the highest lorry parking standards, offer exceptional customer service and provide a safe environment for users.
TheStop at the Hollies, located just off exit junction 12 of the M6, underwent rigorous risk assessments by both The British Parking Association (BPA) and the Staffodshire Police to qualify for the scheme.
The Park Mark accreditation comes hot on the heels of Certas Energy gaining TAPA (The Transported Asset Production Association) Partner status and becoming a member of NaVCIS (National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service), both of which aim to prevent cargo crime around the UK.
Mike Heaton, Head of Estate Development for Roadside Services at Certas Energy, said: “We are delighted to have received this prestigious industry award. The commendation helps to reinforce and independently affirm our dedication to improve the safety and security of driver facilities in the UK, one stop at a time.
Matt Robinson from BPA said: “We would like to congratulate TheStop at The Hollies for achieving the Park Mark Freight award. We were impressed with the time and care taken to uphold and champion the highest of standards at the site.
“This award demonstrates the value of the roadside facilities on offer and how important driver welfare, site security and creating a safe environment is to Certas Energy.”
News of the award win comes weeks after Certas Energy launched the new look truck stop. Formerly known as Road King Cannock (The Hollies) and holding the title of oldest truck stop in the UK, TheStop at The Hollies is the first roadside facilities site operated by Certas Energy.
Following a major overhaul, it now boasts a café, bar, 15-room hotel, washroom facilities, gaming area, laundrette, truck wash and HGV refuelling bunker. It also offers improved parking facilities, with 230 secure HGV parking spaces per night, as well as security guards and CCTV monitoring.
