Your Benefits

Holiday 

The holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December each year.  Dependent upon role, employees are entitled to the following annual leave: 

Holiday 1

  • Employees with less than 2 years of service are entitled to: 28 working days paid at basic daily rate (20 annual leave + 8 public holidays) 
  • After 2 years of service this is enhanced to: 33 working days paid at basic daily rate (25 annual leave + 8 public holidays) 

Holiday 2

  • Employees with less than 2 years of service are entitled to: 33 working days paid at basic daily rate (25 annual leave + 8 public holidays) 
  • After 2 years of service this is enhanced to: 34 working days paid at basic daily rate (26 annual leave + 8 public holidays) 

For employees based in our Scottish regions, public holidays are calculated on a “Fixed” and “floating” basis. 

Holiday, Buy and Sell 

Permanent employees can apply to buy up to a maximum of 1 working week (5 days for a full-time employee) and sell up to 3 days from the next holiday year. All requests to buy and sell holidays are required to be agreed and approved by your local Line Manager. 

Any holiday, up to a maximum of 1 working week that has not been used in the previous holiday year is automatically carried over to the next annual leave year.  

Sickness 

After 12 months continuous service employees are entitled to receive enhanced company sick pay. Enhanced Sick Pay provisions vary, dependent upon role and length of service. Please speak to either the recruiting manager or our recruitment colleagues for exact details relating to your application. 

Pension 

Certas energy operates one main pension scheme, but offers two separate ways of contribution, designed to suit an employees personal circumstances. All employees are invited to join a Net Deduction contributory pension scheme; with contribution rates being set at 5% employee and 5% employer contributions. 

All employees, subject to the current Salary Sacrifice and Real Living Wage requirements, can join the Salary sacrifice scheme, with standard contribution rates of 6% employee and 5% employer.  

In line with current legislation, all employees with 3 months continuous service will be automatically enrolled into the Net Deduction scheme at standard contribution rates and are eligible to opt for the Salary Sacrifice Scheme contributions.  Further information on pension arrangements can be found in your individual offer pack or by contacting the HR Team 

Life Assurance 

Certas Energy operates a “non-cost” Life Assurance policy for all employees up to the age of 70 years old which provides for a lump sum payment in the event of death in service.   

Subject to trust deed the provision is as follows; 16 to 64 Years 4 X Base salary & 64 to 70 Years 2 X Base salary. 

Employee Assistance Programme 

Certas Energy providers a confidential support service for employees and their immediate family members, to support the employees wellbeing.  The service provision includes, but is not limited to, support for; family issues, gambling issues, domestic abuse, debt matters, childcare matters, medical information, financial issues, insurance claims, legal matters, work matters, lifestyle addictions, relationship issues, consumer issues, stress and housing matters 

Medical Insurance – Health Plan 

Dependent upon your terms and conditions of role, Certas Energy providers Medical Insurance through our Health Plan provider, SimplyHealth. The scheme offers a wider range of benefits and support, from easy access to a doctor or counsellor, or claiming back costs for your dental check-up, eye test, physio, and more. Further details will be made available on any successful application or are available from the appropriate recruitment colleague supporting your application.  

PMI – Private Medical Insurance 

Dependent upon the terms and conditions of the role you have applied for, Certas Energy provides Private Medical Insurance (PMI) to our employees. The PMI cover is designed to give members quick access to eligible health treatment; from seeing a specialist for diagnosis to receiving the appropriate care during a stay in hospital. The scheme ensures members can attend flexible appointment times and choose from a large choice of private hospitals. You will also be able to access information relating to health and wellbeing services to help you live life well. 

Back in Action (Physiotherapy Care) 

Certas Energy provides access to physiotherapy and related services support to all our employees, through a national provider who has access to local to employee physiotherapist practices. Our provider, Back In Action, can help treat muscular skeletal (muscle and bones) disorders. 

Ride2Work Certas Energy Bike2Work Scheme supports the government approved benefit, designed to get more people cycling to work and living healthier lives. This is a salary sacrifice scheme operated in line with HMRC rules and provides discounts against the purchase of cycles and cycle equipment. More information will be made available on your induction day. 

Long Service Awards 

Certas Energy recognises 25, 35 and 45 Years of Continuous Service by making generous awards awarding points through our Partner Company, TerryBerry, which can be spent on high quality brands and goods.
