Kerry has been with Certas Energy for 23 years and in her current role of Terminal Shift Supervisor for 15 years when she decided to apply for an SVQ Apprenticeship in Management.
“I applied because I’m always keen to learn and further my knowledge. Plus I felt it would give me more confidence in my role.
I can’t believe the difference this apprenticeship has made to me and neither can my colleagues. I’ve gained so much confidence both professionally and personally. I’m more driven about my work.
I’m also putting myself forward for things at work which I didn’t have the confidence to do before the apprenticeship.
I’m keen to continue learning and I’ve applied to attend a ‘Train the Trainer’ course so that I can develop further training presentations to my colleagues”.
Kerry’s Apprenticeship Coach, Christina comments further:
“Kerry has grown so much into a confident learner, she has come through many challenges and is continually motivated to make improvements, linking the learnings from your apprenticeship to your everyday job”
Kerry has now completed her apprenticeship and is enjoying applying all the skills learnt. She has taken on further roles and responsibilities both at home and at work, becoming a member of the PTA at her children’s school and also becoming a Mental Health First Aider and Health and Wellbeing Champion.
