Certas Energy took another colourful step forward this year by jumping into our second Manchester Pride Parade. This wasn’t just a fun outing, (although there were a lot of smiling faces!) but an important way to show how committed we are to diversity, equality and inclusion.
And this year we went even bigger and better with the addition of our Pride themed truck!
Our Commitment to Inclusivity
Joining the Manchester Pride Parade for a second-year running wasn’t just about putting on a rainbow flag for the day. It’s a reflection that we are committed to making sure everyone —whether it’s our colleagues, customers, or family & friends — feels welcomed and valued.
Over the last few years, we’ve been working hard to create a more inclusive environment here at Certas Energy. We’ve rolled out our new diversity subgroups and we are pushing for a culture where everyone is respected no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity.
A Day to Remember at the Parade
The Manchester Pride Parade is one of the biggest and most exciting events of the year, drawing people from all over – with no exception from our team members who made the journey from all corners of the UK.
The 2024 parade saw vibrant floats, lively music and an incredible atmosphere. We were right in the middle of it all – with our team decked out in rainbow gear and our float giving Manchester a splash of the Certas Energy purple!
It was amazing to see our colleagues from all areas of our company coming together to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community and it felt great to be part of such a powerful display of solidarity.
What’s Next
Looking ahead, we’re committed to keeping up the momentum. We’re going to continue supporting LGBTQ+ initiatives both within our company and in the broader community. We plan to keep participating in events like Pride and to find new ways to promote diversity and inclusion throughout our organisation. Our new Pride truck will now go on the road and we are sure it will be making an appearance in future UK Pride events.
