Over the past year, Certas Energy has made a commitment to support local causes and non-profit organisations, through our ‘Hands in the Community’ scheme. We as a business aim to make a difference through volunteering, charity events, fundraising and more, to help create an impact on local communities and organisations throughout the UK.
Over the course of 2023, we’ve donated to charities such as Little Stars in Warrington, Herbie Hedgehog Rescue and The Terrence Higgins Trust, and as part of our volunteering programme, our teams have attended 42 events, with a total of 670 hours volunteered, across England, Scotland and Wales. For more information, check out some of our blogs on Scottish Fuels here.
Certas Energy also fundraised at the hugely successful Spartan Race in August 2023. For this event, our teams put their strengths to the test; scaling walls, jumping over fire and getting seriously muddy, all to help raise money for a selection of wonderful charities. The teams successfully raised a total of £26,379 for a number of UK charities including 2 Wish, Dementia UK, Homeless Project Scotland, MIND, MacMillan Cancer Support and Claire House Children’s Hospice.
We are an integral part of the communities in which we operate and believe it’s our duty to ensure that our presence brings about positive change; this is why we launched Hands in the Community. As part of our commitment, we are continuing to support organisations throughout 2024 but as a recap of the past year, we’re proud to say we’ve made the following impact:
94 CAUSES SUPPORTED
Fantastic causes throughout the UK.
£143,611 DONATED
And we will continue to donate throughout the rest of 2024.
64,275 PEOPLE SUPPORTED
Through our donations and working with a comprehensive network of good causes, our funds will support over 64,000 people in communities local to us.
ACROSS 5 SDG
Our donations will directly impact UN Sustainable Development Goals, reducing food poverty, helping support sustainable cities, improving life on land and reducing social isolation.
