Last week, Certas Energy joined over 650 exhibitors and 35,000 delegates from across the construction supply chain for UK Construction Week at the NEC in Birmingham.
Bringing together 9 separate events, UK Construction Week had something to interest everyone and with issues such as the impact of Brexit, attracting a workforce of the future and offsite construction on the agenda, it offered some fascinating insights and practical solutions to construction’s biggest challenges and opportunities.
UK Construction Week was the first time we’ve showcased our total fuel and lubricant management solutions for construction at a major industry event and it was a great opportunity for the team to talk to delegates about their fuel requirements as well as their biggest challenges when it comes to keeping their sites moving.
Innovation was a big buzz word at the show with so many new and exciting products being developed to introduce more efficient and sustainable ways of working; from drones and mobile modelling to modular buildings and electric paint heating systems. The show’s Innovation Trail highlighted some of the latest products on offer, including GTL Fuel, which we’re proud to be championing in the UK as a cleaner burning alternative to diesel.
With a heavy reliance on ‘dirty diesel’ the construction industry is under pressure to clean up its act and some of the most interesting conversations we had were around the benefits of alternative fuels, such as GTL, to reducing emissions. We had a really positive response when talking to delegates about the benefits cleaner burning fuels can have not only on reducing harmful NOx and PM emissions but also from an efficiency, employee welfare and noise reduction perspective – all helping to improve the image of construction. Brian Worrall, Director of Corporate Affairs at Certas Energy delivered a presentation on the benefits of GTL Fuel which can be downloaded here.
The ability to store and move fuel across construction sites safely and securely is critical and storage solutions experts from Kingspan joined us on stand to answer questions about finding the right solution to take the stress out of fuel management. Visitors to our stand could also take part in our Scalextric challenge and re-energise at our oxygen bar which provided the equivalent energy boost to three Red Bulls!
We’re looking forward to partnering with our construction customers to fuel this vibrant and innovative industry for a cleaner, safer, healthier future. For more information about our offering for the construction industry please click here.
