Certas Energy, working in partnership with Peel Ports Group, is delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted for a new 24hr HGV refuelling facility within the Port of Liverpool.
The Port of Liverpool is one of the largest, busiest and most diverse ports in the UK. Its current traffic and anticipated growth through investment make it the perfect location for the new HGV refuelling site.
Ground works and construction will begin imminently on this significant investment to develop a state-of-the-art refuelling facility for up to eight HGVs at the same time. High speed pumps combined with advanced data collection, fuel monitoring equipment and filtration systems will ensure the best service offering at all times.
Located at the main entrance to the Royal Seaforth Container Terminal and adjacent to the new Liverpool2 deep-water container terminal, which is part of Peel Ports’ £750 million investment programme across the North West, the bunker site will add convenience for current port users as there will be no need for drivers to divert off route to refuel; they can refuel on entering or leaving the port, saving time as they proceed to their onward destination.
Paul Williams, Director, Certas Energy commented, “This is an exciting opportunity for Certas Energy and we are really pleased to be working with Peel Ports Group on this development. Our long-term lease not only demonstrates our continued investment to expanding our national refuelling network, but also highlights our commitment to supporting the continued economic development of the city of Liverpool. We look forward to the HGV refuelling site opening in early 2017”.
David Huck, Port Director, Peel Ports Group said, “This new facility will add value to our customers and provide a convenient and cost-effective location for HGV drivers to refuel their vehicles. Planning permission is a key milestone and we look forward to working with Certas Energy to provide a convenient new service to our port users.”
