On Thursday 24th April 2025, the Marketing team spent a beautiful, sunny day volunteering with the team at Incredible Edible Knowsley – a charity close to their hearts and one they’ve supported before.
This marked the second time the team had visited the site and it was clear just how much progress had been made since their last volunteering day. From new structures to flourishing plant beds, the transformation was impressive and the team were proud to contribute to the continued growth of the space.
A Day of Teamwork and Giving Back
The day was filled with practical and purposeful tasks that allowed the team to step away from their desks and get hands-on in the garden. Activities included:
General ground maintenance, helping to tidy, weed and care for the site.
Building new plant beds, ready to grow fresh produce for the community.
Constructing a new fence to keep the on-site rabbits safe and secure.
Each task contributed to the charity’s vital mission of providing food and essentials to those in need through their foodbank. Since the Marketing team’s last visit, Incredible Edible Knowsley has also branched into other areas such as:
- Onsite workshops
- Free events
- Holistic and apothecary offers
- Wellbeing days and retreats
And better yet, all the money that comes in from their holistic side of the charity goes back into activities and events for the community!
The Certas Energy Hands in the Community Scheme
This volunteering day was part of the Hands in the Community scheme, which empowers employees to take time out of their working day to support local causes and charities. It’s a core part of Certas Energy’s commitment to giving back and building stronger connections within the communities it serves. Plus it’s a great way for teams to get out and spread some support!
Supporting a Meaningful Cause
Incredible Edible Knowsley is more than just a charity – it’s a hub of support for local people, offering access to fresh food, essential supplies and educational opportunities. It also provides a safe space for those who need a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and their weekly volunteers from across the North West echoed their support for this fabulous charity. The Marketing team were proud to spend the day helping out and making a tangible difference to a space that gives so much to others.
The team left the site feeling inspired, united and full of admiration for the incredible work being done every day by the Knowsley-based charity. They’re already looking forward to their next visit!
